Lauriston Playcentre Fundraiser
Friday 30th July
Methven Heritage Centre
The fundraisers' latest money spinning venture will bring four actors from the Christchurch based Court Jesters to the new Methven Heritage Hall for an evening of improvised comedy.
In the show called “Off the Map”, the creative jesters will create a range of eccentric characters and weave a story from a few words supplied by the audience.
“It will be a very entertaining evening, full of off the cuff humour and verbal audience participation,” says Lauriston resident and new playcentre building supporter Raewyn Maw.
As befitted the community, the themes for evening would have strong local and rural focuses, she said.
As part of the July 30 fundraiser, two local artists, Carmen and Jenny Thompson, will exhibit their artworks in the hall.
Proceeds from the sale of an artwork by Jenny Thompson will go towards the building fund.
Tickets for the event can be purchased from Raewyn Maw, who can be contacted on 302 1885.
