Job Description This exciting new position will be part of establishing a new Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) service for the people of Mid Canterbury and will be based at Community House, Ashburton.

Once the CAB has been established, the co ordinator will be responsible for the day to day management of the CAB service in accordance with CAB NZ requirements, meeting the needs of clients through managing and supporting an effective volunteer workforce.

Key elements of the role include:

Working with CABNZ and Community House to establish the CAB-volunteer requirement and training: set up of physical premises: development of administrative, financial and health and safety processes: promotion of the new service: reporting to funders and governance bodies and seeking funding.

Once established, day to day operation of the CAB, including volunteer recruitment. supporting volunteer teams to provide training and mentoring: providing administration, finance and planning, maintaining service quality, reporting, seeking funding and promotion of the service.
Qualifications Experience and skills sought for the role are:

LEADERSHIP: Role modelling the aims and values of the CAB

CLIENT FOCUSED: ensuring the service provided is welcoming and non-judgemental.

DEMONSTRATES a high level of empathy, confidentiality and professionalism.

EXPERIENCE managing and mentoring volunteers and fostering a sense of team.

ADMINISTRATIVE and financial ecperience.

EXCELLENT verbal and written skills, including dat analysis and report writing.

ABLE to plan and organise own work and use time effectively

EXPERIENCE in promotion.

PRESENTATION skills.

CULTURAL awareness.
