Temporary closures happening at EA Networks Centre for routine maintenance PDF Print E-mail
22 November 2018 - ADC - The EA Networks Centre (EANC) pools, changing rooms and stadium will be temporarily closed to the public for a period of time in January 2019 while routine maintenance work is carried out.

The pools and changing rooms will be unavailable to the public from Monday 7 – Sunday 20 January while grouting and sealant replacement is completed on three of the four pools. Other maintenance work will also be carried out in the changing rooms during this period. Although regular visitors will not be able to access the pools during this time, training squads will still be able to use the main pool only.

The stadium will also be closed from Monday 14 – Friday 25 January to allow for an additional curtain division to be installed.

“This routine work will help ensure that that Centre continues to be in fit working order, and – in the case of the additional curtain divider, will enhance the facility even more for users,” Council Group Manager of Service Delivery, Neil McCann says.

“These types of pool closures can usually take  up to five weeks, which would be a significant inconvenience to visitors, so we’ve done our best to minimise the disruption and have reduced that closure period to just two weeks. We will also be opening the Tinwald pool for longer hours during the closure to help provide an alternative option for swimmers.”

The Tinwald pool will be open from 9am – 7pm while the EANC pools are closed, an additional three hours more than usual. Learn to Swim classes will also be run at the Tinwald pool during this time.

People with Gold and Platinum memberships to the EANC pools will receive a credit on their membership fee in the following payment cycle. People with a Silver pool membership will not be charged their membership fee during the closure. The gym and café facilities at the Centre will not be affected during the temporary closures.

The pools and changing rooms are expected to reopen at 5.45am, Monday 21 January, while the stadium will be open to the public from 7.00am, Saturday 26 January 2019.

“We appreciate the community’s understanding during these up-coming closure dates, and apologise for any inconvenience it may cause some visitors,” Mr McCann adds.
