24 May 2017 -  Federated Farmers - The revival in fortunes of dairy farmers has been highlighted today by Fonterra’s announcement that they are increasing the milk price for the current season-lifting its payout from $6.00 to $6.15/kg milksolids for the year ending 30 May 2017.

18 May 2017 - By Mick Jensen - Ashburton poultry enthusiast Brian Glassey is one of the stars of new Kiwi documentary Pecking Order, which opens in cinemas around the country, including Ashburton's Regent Cinema, today (May 18).
The chook breeder is one of the personalities featured in the 80 minute feel-good film, which tells the story of simmering rivalries at the Christchurch Poultry, Bantam and Pigeon Club.

Instead of dollars, time credits are used as payment for services in the TimeBank. Credits earned for the work you do can then be used to ``buy'' another member's time and services.

18 May 2017 - By Mick Jensen - Allenton Rugby Club is getting the word out early ahead of big centennial celebrations planned for 2022.
The club will ``warm up'' with a 95th birthday bash over Queen's Birthday Weekend and will start collating facts, figures, photos and stories for a planned history booklet.
