Preparations are in full swing for two Armistice Day commemorative concerts in Ashburton in November.
Named `For The Fallen', the November 10 and 11 concerts will be performed at Ashburton Trust Event Centre and will feature big bands, choirs and soloists.

September 7th 2018 - The Braided Rivers Community Trust has been chosen as the new name for Ashburton Licensing Trust (ALT). For a number of years ALT has not issued liquor licences, as its name suggests, and has been referred to as Ashburton Trust.

September 5th, 2018 - The Department of Conservation (DOC) has recommenced its Battle For Our Birds predator control programme and has contracted OSPRI to drop cereal pellet baits containing 1080 in the upper catchments of the Wilberforce and Mathias rivers.
