22 December 2018 - ADC - Plans to re-open the former i-SITE building in Ashburton as an information centre have been progressing in recent months, with the Ashburton District Council and the newly established independent group, Ashburton Info Hub (AIH) working together to bring the concept to life.

13 December 2018 - Mid Canterbury Tennis coach Andre Van Rooyen loves nothing more than seeing youngsters pick up a racquet for the first time and watching them quickly develop new skills.
The South African born coach teaches tennis at 18 primary schools around the district and has done so since moving here from Nelson in 2016.

COUNCIL REMOVES METHVEN-SPRINGFIELD PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE PDF Print E-mail

4 December 2018 - ADC - The Ashburton District Council has lifted the precautionary boil water notice in place for the Methven-Springfield supply. Residents connected to this scheme are no longer required to boil their drinking water, and water used in food preparation or for hygiene purposes.

LIGHT UP THE NIGHT KICKS OFF SERIES OF COUNCIL-HOSTED EVENTS THIS HOLIDAY SEASON PDF Print E-mail

4 December 2018 - ADC - Christmas in Ashburton officially kicked off with the lighting of the town’s giant Christmas tree at Baring Square East this past Friday (30 November) for a second year in a row. The family-friendly event attracted both young and the not so young who enjoyed live musical performances, entertainment, food, a special visit from Santa Claus, and the dramatic countdown to end the night with the lighting of the giant Christmas tree by Ashburton Mayor Donna Favel.
