Welcome
to the Teva Big Day At The Office Race - a Five Stage multi-sport
event & Duathlon based around the Methven Foothills.
M ultisport
Race
Starting with a Stage
1
40km Road Cycle, a gradual climb of 180m then onto Stage
2
The X1 24km run, (well the run is fun! Up there with the best of
them) through the Mount Somers Sub Alpine Walkway you will see a bit
of everything the Canterbury back country has to offer, so make sure
you wipe the sweat from your eyes and have a look around on your
way.
(Note:
Social/Corporate/Business
category may have two runners. They can split the run any way they
want one runner can run 3.5km into Woolshed Creek carpark and run the
last 3.5km from Sharplin falls carpark to the Staveley Store and the
other runner to run the 17 km walkway or run all the way to the
store)
Stage
3
- Then back onto your bike for 25 km sidling along the foothills down
to the Rakaia Gorge to the Kayak transition.
Stage
4
- The Kayaka 16km
Kayakers
will start on the North side of the Rakaia Gorge Bridge. Team
Kayakers will have to tag their cyclist then run 150 meters to their
kayak.(Kayakers will not require a grade two ticket but river paddle
experience and self rescue procedures will be a must) The kayak leg
is the same as the Frostbuster course which is much the same as the
Brass Monkey course.
Stage
5 - 2.2
km run out of Lowes cutting to your bike then a 10 km cycle to finish
outside the Blue pub.
Duathlon
Stage 1 & 2 the same as the Multisport Race Stage 3 a 30km cycle
following the Multisport course for 20 km then turning right at Mt
Hutt Station to Methven to finish outside the Blue Pub.
All
competitors must be present to claim major drawn prizes. Showers will
be available at the Camping Ground on Barkers Road.

done on Friday night (so make sure your entries are in by then)
