ASHBURTON DISTRICT FARMERS’ MARKET INC.


Dear Potential Member, Friend or Stallholder,
We welcome applications to join the Ashburton District Farmers’ Market Inc. as members and apply for a stall, thus becoming stallholders to sell produce derived from the Mid-Canterbury area.  The Ashburton District Farmers’ Market is a regular, fresh, quality, food market that promotes direct sales from producer to consumer.

An information pack is available by contacting the secretary. The pack explains the process of application and includes application forms. It also includes the Ashburton District Farmers’ Market Charter, which outlines the purpose of the market and the criteria for stallholder responsibilities.


Process of Application

The Ashburton Farmers’ Market is managed by the committee of the Ashburton District Farmers’ Market Inc.  This is a not-for-profit organisation set up specifically to establish and organize the market. The committee reviews all applications to join the market against set criteria.  Decisions on participation are based on regional boundaries, type of produce, food safety certification.  Stallholders are subject to the requirements of the “Food Safety Guidelines for the Ashburton District Farmers’ Market Inc”
